SNOWSHOE OUTINGS

SNOWSHOE OUTINGS

Snowshoe outings are available at Ciampedie. This is an ancient and alternative way to experience the mountains in winter. The Catinaccio is renowned for snowshoeing, with relaxing, regenerating and incredibly beautiful trails through the snowy landscape of the fabulous Catinaccio group, protected from the harsh winter winds by the surrounding Dolomite peaks. Perfect for romantic or active winter walking.

Hiking suggestions::

CIAMPEDIE PLATEAU TOUR:

a circular route around the Ciampedie plateau through the forest, with panoramic views of Val di Fassa and the Dolomite massifs. Guided tours are organised by the Vigo di Fassa Ski School.

CIAMPEDIE-GARDECCIA ROUTE:

(SEE THE TOUR VIDEO!!) from the Vigo-Ciampedie cable car arrival station, descend the forest path to Pian Pecei, or take the Pian Pecei-Ciampedie chairlift (CHAIRLIFT INCLUDED IN THE CABLEWAY RETURN TICKET). On the Pian Pecei plateau, go around the Prà Martin chairlift station and then take the “Sentiero delle leggende” (“Path of Legends”) on the right following a forest road that leads up to the Gardeccia basin, a unique, natural amphitheatre. The route then becomes more challenging, but you can continue along summer path no. 546 towards the Vajolet and Preuss Refuges and continue to the Principe Pass following path no. 584. A mountain guide is recommended for these last two variants.

THERE ARE THREE OPEN REFUGES IN GARDECCIA:

Baita Enrosadira, Rifugio Gardeccia and Rifugio Stella Alpina. After a recent renovation, Stella Alpina also offers overnight stays (by reservation). Rifugio Passo Principe is also open in the winter months, depending on snow conditions (check with the manager)

Shelters Info:

ALWAYS CONSULT THE AVALANCHE REPORT BEFORE THE EXCURSIONS
