At Ciampedie there is the possibility of numerous snowshoe hikes, a way of experiencing the winter mountains in an alternative way to skiing, going back to a tool with very ancient origins. The Catinaccio is renowned for snowshoeing. Very relaxing, rejuvenating and incredibly beautiful are the walks in the snowy landscape of the fabulous Catinaccio group, with temperatures that are always mild thanks to the Dolomite peaks that protect from the harsh winter winds. The Rosengarten is ideal for a romantic and breathtaking winter walk.

CIAMPEDIE TOUR:
is a circular route around the Ciampedie plateau through the forest with panoramic views of the Val di Fassa and the Dolomite massifs. Guided outings are organised by the Vigo di Fassa Ski School.
CIAMPEDIE-GARDECCIA TRAIL:
(WATCH THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION OF THE TRIP!) From the arrival point of the Vigo-Ciampedie cable car, descend to Pian Pecei either by following the forest path or by taking the Pian Pecei-Ciampedie chairlift (RIDE INTO THE FUNIVIA TO AND FROM the cable car). On the Pian Pecei plateau, go around the Pra Martin chairlift station and after a short distance, take the ‘Sentiero delle leggende’ on the right which, following a forest road, leads to the Gardeccia basin, a unique natural amphitheatre. From here, although the walk becomes more demanding, you can continue along summer path no. 546 towards the Vajolet and Preuss Refuges and further on to the Principe Pass along path no. 584. For these last two variants, it is best to rely on an alpine guide.
In Gardeccia, in the heart of the Catinaccio, there are four huts that are also open in winter. These huts are ideal for winter hikers, snowshoe hikers and tobogganing enthusiasts. Away from the ski slopes, Gardeccia offers a unique atmosphere, where you can immerse yourself in the tranquillity and extraordinary beauty of the snow-covered landscape.
